Abstract: The diaparit y of economic development between the south and the north of Jiangsu province becomes obvious,The allocation of productive forces should be based on this fact,before the end of this century and even before the beginning of the next century that the economic development in the north should be speed up to reduce the economic disparity, under the presupposition of keeping up a steady increase at a high speed in the total economic strength of the province. Therefore,the overall conception of the future distribution of productive forces can be described as follows:To put the stress on thesouth zone, to accelerate the construction of the industry intensive zone along the east Longhai rail way line and to improve the economic strength of two centre cities Huaiyin and Yancheng; then to strive to form such an allocation of productive forces by the beginning of the next century,in which there are a several economic core regions, an industry-intensive zone,and two economic increasing centres.
